Self-publishing - How to do it
2-hour seminar (one evening)
Self-publishing is becoming a popular option for writers, especially when it can be hard to get your foot in the door with mainstream publishers.
Self-publishing your book is a useful strategy for professionals or business owners who want to write a book based on their professional experience - a book can often be a credible marketing tool or "calling card". It is also a suitable option for some non-fiction books.
Best-selling thriller author, Matthew Reilly, and the hugely successful Sandra Cabot - author of The Liver Cleansing Diet - both started off as self-publishers. They were both picked up by major publishing houses soon after.
This seminar is presented by Valerie Khoo and will help you determine if self-publishing is right for you.
It will cover:
- self-publishing versus commercial publishing
- the steps to successful self-publishing
- the importance of editing and layout
- how to get your book printed
- marketing and distributing your book
- what's it all going to cost?

This seminar is held at the Sydney Writers' Centre in our professional harbouside training rooms in the evenings. Please feel free to contact us and we would be happy to answer any of your questions.
