Media Communications Training
One-day workshop
(maximum 6 participants)

When you are dealing with the media, it is essential to get your message right the first time around. Often, there are no second chances.

Our Media Communications Training workshop is a
one-day training session that will:

  • give you the confidence to deal with all types of media (print, radio and TV)
  • help you understand what the media want - and how to give it to them
  • provide you with practical tools and tips to handle interviews
  • give you a firm understanding of a journalist's agenda
  • ensure your key messages are communicated
  • help you answer curly questions
  • show you how to create a positive image and turn a negative interview around
  • nurture ongoing relationships with journalists

This workshop is ideal if you:

  • have to do any media interviews for your organisation
  • liaise with journalists/media in any capacity
  • are in a PR role in your organisation
  • are likely to be called on as a spokesperson for your organisation

How is the workshop structured?
The workshop is a practical, interactive experience that deals step-by-step with print, radio and TV. Different media require different responses - it's not a case of one size fits all.

Apart from discussion on the golden rules to follow when dealing with the media, we also conduct role-plays where you are questioned by a real journalist in different interview scenarios. This will help you hone your interview skills so you are fully prepared when it comes to the real thing.

This workshop is designed to benefit a communications team within a single organisation.

Who are your presenters?
Monica Rosenfeld
is the founder of WordStorm / Strategic PR & Writing. WordStorm has worked with a wide range of industries and clients over the past seven years including Dilmah Tea, Just Cuts, Muffin Break, Jamaica Blue and Triumph International.  Monica worked as a researcher at TCN 9's A Current Affair for two years before starting WordStorm.
