Novel writing workshop
5-month course (evening classes)
If you've already done the introductory creative writing course or have some experience in creative writing and want to hone your craft, the Novel Writing workshop will help you expand your skills and make your novel become a reality.
This course will suit people who have a definite project on which they have already done some work. The Novel Writing workshop is ideal for people who want to develop longer pieces of work or a series of short stories.
The class meets approximately every six weeks. This means participants have a block of time to develop their work further before each session.
The Novel Writing workshop will help you identify problems in your own writing and find solutions for those problems. It will also help you learn to critique manuscripts, including their own.
Workshopping a range of manuscripts will inevitably throw up a wide range of issues for writers, from voice and characterisation down to grammar and punctuation.
Now that you have learnt theory, tools and techniques to use in your creative writing, it's time to take your writing to the next level.
When you workshop your material, you are working on it in a very practical way. This is where you can really shape and mould your creative writing. Over the five months, participants will have at least two opportunities to present their writing for feedback.
Pamela will also provide a written feedback on your writing at the end of the five months. She will critique each work individually and provide in-depth written feedback/editing suggestions on your piece.
This Novel Writing workshop is presented by Pamela Freeman is author of 18 books.
