Creative Writing Stage 1
5-week course (evening classes)

Would you like to see your words in print? Do you feel like you have a book in you? If you want to explore the world of writing - but are not sure where to start - this course will enhance your creativity.

This excellent creative writing course has been featured in The Sydney Morning Herald. Maybe you want to write short stories, a family history or turn your journal into something more. We'll help you get started. This creative writing course will teach you how to:

• kick-start the creative writing process
• tap into your imagination
• draw from everyday experiences and memories
• examine different types of creative writing
• give structure to your writing
• use characters and dialogue

By the end of the course you'll improve your creative writing skills and have the confidence to pursue your own writing projects.

This creative writing course is presented by Dr Pamela Freeman - author of 18 books, the most recent of which, Blood Ties (Book 1 of the Castings trilogy) is being published in the US, UK and Germany as well as Australia. The second book, Deep Water, will be published in August 2008. She also has a new children’s book, Victor’s Challenge, coming out in July in the UK and Australia.

Pamela started as a children’s writer, and many of her books have been shortlisted for the State Literary Awards, the Children's Book Council Book of the Year Awards, the Koala Awards and the Wilderness Society Environment Awards. Pamela – who is also an accomplished script writer – has taught creative writing at the University of Technology, Sydney for many years.
